One of the most important lessons along the twin flame journey is the lesson of true love. You might have heard of the famous cliché “it is impossible to truly love someone unless we first love ourselves.” Well its true, To give love, we must have love and once we have love we must give it without holding any expectation, hesitation, or under any kind conditions. Simply because we ARE love and we recognize this same significance in the “other” who is, in fact, us. It is here, at the core of our being, in our connection with the Source of all Love that lays the foundation of all human love. It is the discovery of this unconditional love within our own being which ultimately frees us from the pain of the twin flame experience. Also, when we allow its plentiful flow to fill us, all our relationships, including that with our twin flame, transform in surprising and astonishing ways.
The love of the twin flames is the closest experience to divine love that we can ever enjoy in the human form. The vortex-like vacuum of this potent Love as it pulls us towards its’ Divine Source calls that both twins first master unconditional self-love before an everlasting, balanced, and amicable physical union can ever happen between them. Only unconditional love can survive the intensity and fire of this beautiful, and spiritual connection.
It is also important that we release the illusion of separation from God and from our twin flame, as well as the belief that we need anything outside of ourselves. After all, if you are not fulfilled by the admirable beauty of your authentic being, without feeling like there is something missing, then how can you ever expect your twin flame, who is your mirror to your soul, to do so? Only YOU can and must give yourself all the Love you deserve and need. Here are some ways that can help you learn to love yourself and heal any inner wounds that you may have.
Healing Our Inner Child
One of the most frequent things that block most twins regarding Twin Flame Love is the wounded Inner Child. Inner child work is a necessary part of soul work. It reconnects us with a wounded aspect of ourselves: the child within. When we reconnect with this broken part of ourselves, we can begin to discover the root of many of our issues, anger, insecurities, self-sabotaging life patterns, fears and phobias that we may carry.
Working on your inner child is not about being childish again, but to reconnect with your childlike side. Allow your true inner colors to shine. Remember Just because you are an adult doesn’t mean you always have to choose over to neutral and plain colors. It’s okay to allow your inner true colors to shine through.
If you have any mother or father wounds, write a letter to them expressing everything you feel and what you’ve wanted from them in the past. Then once you’re done, burn these letters. Write as many as you want but don’t send them.
Get old photos of yourself, remind yourself of your inner child’s presence by placing these old photos near your bedside, wallet, binders, computer desktops or just around your house.
Take some time out and do the things you used to love doing as a child, whatever it is. You may feel a bit foolish at doing this but it is vital to inner child healing. Plus you can discover and connect to sides of yourself that you never even knew existed.
Eliminate Negative Self Talk
Talking bad about yourself, or Calling yourself a name is really reducing yourself from a human to a single element of yourself that you do not like, and can physically make your body feel bad too.
Sometimes, when things go our way we might say “I’m so stupid” or “I am ugly.” Instead immediately replace that self-talk with positive and loving words. Like “I am beautiful” or “I love myself for who I am.” When you realize that you are thinking negatively for yourself, acknowledge the feeling, identify the source of the feeling, and then consciously make a new statement re-writing your thought as a more positive one. The more you practice this self-talk the more you will vibrate your energy to a much higher frequency.
Focus on your positive attributes and accentuate them
Write a list down of everything you like about yourself, this might be a little difficult for someone who’s always thinks negatively of his or her selves, but try to find at least one positive thing about yourself and add to the list once a month. At the end of each day, think about you entire list. Make sure that your list is very specific and try not be generic. It can be anything from your beautiful looks, your wonderful physic, your charming personality, talents etc. Once you have them down try to think of ways on how you can embrace and accentuate them.
If there is something that you don’t like about yourself then try to find a way to fix it. Just remember no one in the world is perfect, everyone in the universe has some kind flaw and that is what makes us human.
Do Not Compare Yourself To Others
Comparing yourself to others is so destructive to your self-esteem. Everyone no matter what has some kind of flaw, regardless of what you see (especially in magazines, social media, news etc.) Instead, Embrace your individuality, KNOW that your uniqueness is what makes you special and it is so worth embracing. You have so much value just by being yourself. Just think of all the people who made a difference to this world just by being themselves.
Let Go Of Your Past
You may not know it but actually holding onto past issues, or resenting someone in your life binds you to this person. When you start to let go and heal the scars of your past negativity, you will open the door to a positive and fulfilling life. By Letting go of your past hurts, you’re allowing healing to your heart and this will allow you to magnetize love.
Surround yourself with Positivity
The path to unconditional love isn’t meant to be lonely. Surround yourself with people who reflect the love you see in yourself, those that see the best in you, and raise your energy vibrations. People that feel like sunshine sort of speak, those that make you want to level up in life, and stay away from those who are always talking negative, complaining, doubtful and even make you feel as though your energy is drained after you’re with them so to speak.
Exercise and Be Active
Your body was made to move and a wonderful way to help you on your journey to self-love is exercise! Regular exercise makes your heart and bones stronger, keeps your weight under control, reduces feelings of anxiety and depression, and lowers your risk for chronic disease right along with your blood pressure. It releases tension, and leaves you feeling happy after because it releases endorphins in your brain.
Exercising is also a form of meditation as well. , Making your physical and spiritual energy grow as well as your ability to love will grow stronger for others and help your soulmate heal too.
Eat Lighter and healthier Foods
I know food can sometimes be a very delicate subject but it really does help when you put into your body to feel and see things much more clearly spiritually. You will also notice a big difference on how you feel and look.
Try to nourish your body with healthy wholesome foods, like fresh fruits and veggies, healthy fats like avocados and almonds, eat lean cuts of meat, whole grain brown rice, breads, and pastas. Try to steer clear of processed, high sugar, commercial foods, and try to eat at home as much as possible. Eating fast foods and restaurants isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but often times they have added calories and salt.
Everything that you eat does reflect on your body and how you feel each day, always ask yourself before you eat “how is this going to make my body feel?” You will become more aware and conscious of what you eat. You might even like eating like this so much that it may turn into a lifestyle!
Using Positive Affirmations
If you want to remove all of this negativity from your past and finally heal, then using affirmations are a wonderful, powerful, and very effective way to do so. When you say positive statements about your life and yourself, you are literally ‘placing an order’ to the Universe on to what you would like to experience and you are assisting the Universe in bringing you that which you wish for.
It’s so important that you become grateful for your body and showing your body how much you love it. Even if you are single you’re in a relationship with your own body. Acting loving towards your body is a very powerful way to attract your soulmate or Twin Flame. You have to love and accept yourself at everything.
Start by looking in the mirror, look into your eyes and say, “I love you.” Or “I am beautiful.” It may feel a bit strange at the start but you will get more comfortable with it later on.
Say positive affirmations to yourself daily, even if you don’t feel like it. The more you do this the more your mind has no other choice but to think so, thus attracting loving, positive energy to you. Some of my favorite affirmations to say to yourself are:
I forgive myself and set myself free.
I believe in myself.
I accept myself, and am always working to improving myself everyday
I am amazing and astonishing.
I am outstanding and sexy.
Those are just a few but you can find many more on the Internet, articles, or in books. The main thing is though that you are consistent with them and you repeat them to yourself every day, DAILY. You can even write them in a journal or piece of paper, think or say them while you are doing daily activities, or even while you are exercising (which also really helps you.) If you continue to repeat these affirmations to yourself, overtime you will experience the magic.

When you do all things with love and a grateful heart you will attract good karma, experience joy, and improve self-love. You can receive love when you give it out, without holding any expectations. You’re automatically opening your heart and attracting your soul mate\twin flame to you.
