What Are Your Values? And Why Does It Matter? | Third Eye

A friend of mine is writing a graduate school admissions essay. You know the kind. You look at your life and explain why you want to get the degree or certification or credential in question. When he told me about the essay, we started talking about our values and how they align with what we do every day.

I thought I knew my values, but I was surprised once I started listing them that I have more values than I realized. If someone had asked me how many values underlie the things I pursue or the way I behave, I might have said four or five.

Of course, I saw an opportunity to write, so I started listing and describing my values. I came up with sixteen before I decided to stop (for now). After all, how much can I expect you to read!

Aligning Values with Actions

I try to align with my values with my work (writing or helping others write), my yoga practice, my spiritual life, and my relationships.

I enjoy things that align with my values, like nature, animals, music, the arts in general, and baseball. I’m not exactly sure where baseball fits in, so I’ll put it with family. It’s a connection I’ve had with my dad since I was eight years old, and in the beginning of our relationship, my husband and I bonded over our love for the sport.

I share my list not because I think you care what my values are, but because you may recognize something that resonates with you. If you want to share your list with me, I’d be honored!

My values are…

Spirituality – I value seeking and staying on the path to God or enlightenment (same thing in my mind). I’m not sure if spirituality is a value. Maybe faith in something greater than me is what I should call it. Or knowing who I truly am. I’m not sure how to explain this, even though it has been my primary value for as long as I can remember!

Silence – I believe that except when we have something useful to say, it’s best to be silent. It’s in silence that we learn to recognize truth.

Kindness – No one likes meanness. If you’re with people and you’re not helping them feel better about themselves, you’re better off being silent. That said, I recognize it’s not always meanness that prevents others from feeling good. Some people cannot accept kindness. They are the same people not likely to be kind. So, again, if your kindness is not received, be silent. The value of kindness is probably obvious. If you’re not sure what’s valuable about it, be still and notice what you feel next time someone is kind to you.

Simplicity – I think the more we have and do, the more crowded our minds become and the lower our vibration becomes. If you’re a spiritual seeker, you know that vibrating at a higher frequency is the key to transcendence and enlightenment. So, I don’t want a lot of stuff or too many places to be or too many superficial relationships. I don’t want a house full of things or a closet full of clothes. I want the energy to flow, and that requires simplicity.

Being organized – Clutter and chaos slow the flow of energy as well. I was born with the ability to organize, so maybe this is more of a trait than a value. It’s also another reason I value simplicity. It’s easier to keep things in order when you don’t have a lot of them!

Discipline Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today tends to be my motto. In my case, it might even be don’t put off until noon what you can do at 8 am. I know this makes me unusual, but it’s who I am. I’ve never been able to procrastinate.

Listening – You will learn much more by listening than speaking. You will grow much more by listening than speaking. And interestingly, you will help more by listening than speaking. If you have ears to hear (as Jesus said), do so. Listen. Hear. Reflect. And then you will know what to do.

Gratitude If you want to be happy, be thankful. I learned about the power of gratitude gradually, mostly from my yoga teachers, who speak about it often. They do this for a good reason. Gratitude has the power to fill your life. The less you think you have, the more you’ll gain from being grateful. I’m serious.

Following through – If I say I’ll do something, I do it. And I do it by the time I say I’ll do it. In my work, I never miss a deadline. Of course, because I value being reliable in that way, I’m also careful not to commit (or appear to commit) to things I’m not sure I can do.

Learning – In the past, I would have said education. I come from a family of educators. I earned a master’s degree but didn’t think that was enough. I wanted a PhD. I now realize I wasted a lot of time in school meeting requirements when I could have been out there actually learning something. I don’t think I’ll ever stop wanting to learn.

Integrity – Integrity is a kind of honesty that isn’t so much about conveying facts versus fiction but honesty in intention and staying true to my values when I make choices about what to do or what to say.

Care of Creation – I try to value all of creation. It all deserves to be treated with awe and respect. This includes inanimate objects in my care, such as books, my home, and my yard.

Helping others – This is certainly a value, but I mention it with a caveat. We often think helping others means bending over backwards to do everything for anyone who asks, even things that don’t align with our natural gifts. Our natural gifts are ours for a reason. We have them to serve. When we align with them, helping others comes naturally too.

Animal rights – One of my favorite quotes is Gandhi’s quote about animals. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. The more I explore this idea, the more I see the truth in it. We can learn a lot about life from animals and a lot about compassion and kindness from people who treat them well. Unfortunately, we also learn a lot (mostly about greed and selfishness) from people who mistreat them.

Family –  Here, I expand the definition of family to anyone—whether related by blood or not—who you love and who loves you as close to unconditionally as humans are capable of and who is as committed to your well-being as you are to theirs. And by that definition, of course, biology is no guarantee that you are a family.

Health of body, mind, and spirit Here is another way my work aligns with my values. I should also say that my interest in health is mostly holistic. Mind, body, and spirit are intimately connected, and I’ve explored that from every angle for decades.

Humor – Without a sense of humor, life would be much more boring and difficult than it needs to be. I sometimes think talented comedians do the most good in this world.

Creativity – I don’t have a great way to explain why I value creativity, but if I value creation, then I guess it makes sense that I value creativity.

I encourage you to think about your own values, and maybe make a list (be prepared for it to keep growing). If you do this, you may be surprised by how much bigger your life feels and how much more sense it makes.

If you don’t feel that, it may be because you’re not living in alignment with what you value.

Unblocking the Third Eye : What the dark side does not want you to know – Mystic Banana – New Age Spirituality Magazine

There is a power within you that can change the way you see the world. It is your sixth sense; your third eye. The third eye is not really a part of the physical body. It is part of the second body which is etheric body  ( the subtle body or the sukshma sharir ).

Your etheric body is a body which is similar to your  physical body over which it is superimposed, it has a corresponding spot in the physical body, but it is not part of it. That is why physiology cannot believe that there exists a third eye or anything like it, because your skull can be analyzed, penetrated, x-rayed, as there is no physical entity which can be said to be the third eye, so far the closest reference scientist discovered on psychical body is the Pineal Gland. This Secret is something which secret societies and the Illuminati have been knowing for many many years.

The third eye is part of the subtle body, the sukshma sharir.

The third eye allows you to perceive the world beyond the capabilities of your physical senses. Once The third eye’s power is harnessed, you will be able to see things you have never imagined before, like other people’s auras, you will also be able to see the spiritual dimension and receive clairvoyant messages clearly most especially from your spirit guide.

Basically, it will allow you to see things you have never seen before; hear the divine sounds you haven’t heard before; feel impressions and feelings that you haven’t felt before; realize thoughts and insights which are alien… out of this world..

However, there are many instances when the third eye is blocked. There are various causes to a blockage in the sixth sense and it is important to identify it first so appropriate action can be taken.

Basically, the cause of blockage can be classified in two: blockages caused by yourself or by other people.

You can cause a blockage to your sixth sense by letting fear, anxiety or disbelief take over you. Are you scared of seeing ghosts or scary images? Fear of unknown.

blockage can be also because of past life karmic influence, past lives tragic death or lack of spiritual lifestyle in past lives.

Are you doubting whether you possess a third eye or not? Do you believe it is real? Disbelief can also be a cause to block the sixth sense.

If these are the reasons why you cannot open your third eye, you have to learn to let go and release these negative emotions. They are only blocking you from a spiritual journey that will significantly improve your life.

It is also possible that the blockage can be done by other people. If you have a skeptic friend or relative with a strong disbelief in your spiritual life or taking away your self respect, this may cause a temporary or even a permanent emotional blockage to your intuitive senses. This is a more complex cause to deal with as it is hard to sway a person’s belief or self respect.

The best option is to create a harmonious relationship with this other person; one that stands on the foundation of respect of each other’s beliefs.

Practice a Healthy spiritual and meditative lifestyle, eat more of organic green veggies and fresh fruits and if possible give up on Non Veg food.

When you have now identified the cause, it is now time to work on unblocking your third eye. Understanding how energy flows through your physical eyes and third eye will enable you to successfully gain control of your sixth sense.

A blocked third eye receives no form of energy; hence, to unblock it, you need to divert energy from other sources to your third eye.

Because of their proximity to the sixth sense, the best source of energy are your two physical eyes. To redirect energy to the third eye, you must first allow your physical eyes to become unseeing.

How do you do this?

Just close your eyes and focus your eyes on forehead exactly where the two eyes meet. With Close eyes, focus there for few seconds, initially and then maybe a minute or more latter, channeling your energy to your forehead where your sixth sense is located.

As you focus on that part between your two eyes with eyes closed, allow your two physical eyes to stop moving. If they are static, they require no energy to function thus allowing the energy to flow to the next nearest location, your third eye.

You may not be successful in unblocking your third eye on the first time but with constant practice, you will finally be able to pass some energy to your sixth sense.

The Third Eye Kiss

A kiss on the forehead can be incredibly powerful. It might sound like a very easy and adorable thing to do but it can invoke an intense response that is much more than just making you feel all warm and fuzzy. This is because the forehead is where the third eye is located.

Whenever you kiss someone on the forehead, you are actually kissing their third eye. There is a lot more to this than most of us have ever thought about.

Unlike a kiss on the lips or the cheek, this is much more intimate because you are reaching out to the very core of that person. We do not usually make contact with each other’s foreheads. It’s not something as common as holding hands or giving hugs.

The third eye is the portal to the very depths of your being and can also lead you to the highest realms of the spirit. It represents awakening, but it is also very much a part of you. It rests exactly in the middle of your brows and can be opened and closed at will, but only if that art has been mastered. It is an invisible presence that is there with us from the time we are born and continues to exist even after life leaves the physical body.

If a kiss is placed on the third eye, it invokes a sense of enlightenment from deep inside of you. In case you didn’t already know this, the third eye is the pineal gland which is placed in between our eyebrows, just where you’d expect it to be placed. There is a lot we don’t know about this particular part of our body but simultaneously, we also have deep knowledge of it. Where you fall on the spectrum will depend on where you look for your answers.

Kissing the third eye will affect the pineal gland and also the pituitary gland. This stimulates the release of melatonin, the hormone which helps you rest well at night. Every time you are kissed good night, it is actually helping you a lot more than you know. Not only does it help you rest easy, it also makes you feel safe, secure and happy. We can only wonder what knowledge spurred our ancestors to make this such a common habit.

It is okay to not be sure about what to make of this but the best part is that you can try it out for yourself. Kiss your significant other or someone else you really care about on the forehead. Feel the divinity flowing through from you to them, taking away all their worries and care and effectively healing them. When you do this often, you will begin to notice that your life and the lives of those around you are changing, subtly but surely.

Being kissed on the third eye by the person who is meant to be kissing you, at the time and place you are meant to be kissed, can rejuvenate you and give you a whole new thirst for life.

So next time someone kisses you on the forehead, take a long moment to think about how you feel after it. Keep these words in mind and the experience will make much more sense to you.

If You’re Showing These Symptoms, Your Third Eye Might Have Opened By Accident

by Conscious Reminder

The opening of your third eye is no small event so even if you’ve done it unconsciously, you’ll know that it has happened soon enough. Here are some of the indicators you should watch out for.

1. The Way You Perceive Hues And Light Changes Drastically

The third eye activates the sixth sense all around us. What is essential to note here is that the sixth sense is the most powerful of all senses.

With the opening of the third eye, all colors are more radiant, you catch whiffs of strange odors and you think you’ve touched or heard something that isn’t even there. These changes become the norm when your third eye is open.

2. Bizarre And Realistic Dreams Prevent You From Sleeping Well

Probably the first warning you’ll receive about your stimulated third eye, the sharpening of your senses will enable you to receive communication through telepathy from other realms.

You will be able to view these messages while you are asleep and your subconscious is at its strongest making your dreams bizarre and chaotic. Soon enough, you will most likely require medicines to help you rest and this will cause your third eye to close again.

3. Migraines And A Strange Heavy Feeling

Due to the instability of the chakras in your body, they are unable to purify the energies that flow through you.

The more energy that enters, the more problems you will face as the burden on your chakra networks continues to build up. It is also imperative that you visit your physician if the migraines start troubling you.

4. You Are No Longer Sure What Is Real

The activation of your third eye can distance you from reality. Everything around you feels like you’re dreaming because you have become linked to other worlds through your open third eye.

This makes you aware that a lot more exists out there apart from the version of reality you are familiar with.

5. Changes Occur In Your Relationships

Increased perception helps you gain a better understanding of your bonds with others. Everything you considered to be the truth might be exposed for the falsehoods that they are.

There’s no better lie detector than an open third eye. All these new insights might prove to be too much for leading you to end quite a few relationships.

The third eye is one of the most powerful tools that have been granted to mankind. It would be wise to be trained in it before utilizing it.

Kundalini Rising, Part 6: Ajna, the Third-eye Chakra

“The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me.” ~ Meister Eckhart

As Kundalini energy rises up from the lower elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether, it enters into the realm of light. Our Ego-centric Will has become Soul-centric Intent. Our individual ego has now merged with Cosmic Mind.

Personal mastery is at hand, but spiritual myopia is ever-present. This article will discuss the paramount significance of the sixth chakra: Ajna, the Third Eye. The Third Eye has been opened. We have now moved into the “command center” of the Kundalini process.

Ajna means “to command,” through this chakra we can learn how to master our minds. Where before we were under the illusion that all things were separate and disconnected, we gain the ability to see how everything is interconnected, how we are all truly one.

Wisdom is a boon in this region. But we must remember that true mastery is not mastering others; it’s mastering our former self.

Like Nietzsche wrote, “Only now are you going your way to greatness. Peak and abyss, they are now joined together, for all things are baptized in a well of eternity, and lie beyond good and evil.”

The Ajna chakra is symbolized by a violet lotus with two petals. It is located directly behind the forehead. It is the seat of consciousness as well as our “sixth” sense, often referred to as the psychic chakra.

Ajna-chakra-third-eyeThe two petals represent the primordial duality of subject and object, otherwise known as the psychic channels Ida and Pingala. These two channels merge with the central channel Sushumna, signifying the end of duality.

In the center of the lotus is the symbol for OM, or Omkara, a mantra and mystical Sanskrit sound of Hindu origin. This chakra is associated with intuition and the planet Jupiter, and is often associated with the pineal gland, a small endocrine gland in the vertebrate brain that is believed to be the biological equivalent of the third eye.

If, as Yogi Bhajan said, “Going through life without intuition is like driving a car which has no side mirror and no rearview mirror. All you can see is just straight ahead” then it behooves us to keep this chakra clear and healthy.

The deity associated with this region is Ardhanarishvara, an androgynous form of Shiva-Shakti, symbolizing the duality of male feminine energy. A less common name for this chakra is jnana padma or “knowledge-lotus.” It bestows upon us the wisdom to act rationally and without judgment.

A person with a strong Ajna Chakra has greater intuition, a strong sense of identity, and the ability to self-reflect. When this chakra is clear we gain the ability to see ourselves and others as spiritually interconnected beings.

The challenge of the Ajna chakra is to learn how to see beyond the five body senses by trumping the Ego with Cosmic Mind. When this chakra is closed or blocked we tend to lack in imagination and intuition resulting in poor decision making and self-deception.

Physically, third eye weakness may manifest as eye problems, headaches, insomnia, or even nightmares.

Ajna Chakra Meditation:

Kundalini meditation contains many profound techniques for this chakra. Consistent focus on this energetic center is extremely powerful.

Tratak (steady gazing) and Shambhavi Mudra (gazing at the space between the eyebrows) are two practices said to stimulate the third eye.

While meditating, visualize a luminous ball of warm indigo energy spinning slowly at the center of your forehead. Imagine it shooting powerful bands of light down and through the lower chakras, filling your entire being with divine light.

The Tratak meditation is best accomplished using candlelight, by gazing at the flame without blinking, holding your gaze for 2 minutes then gently close your eyes and “see” the flame in your mind’s eye. Thus awakening and energizing the third eye.

With the end of duality and the opening of the Cosmic Eye, we are now moving up into pure consciousness. Self-actualization is upon us. In Tibetan Buddhism the third eye chakra is the last of the chakras. In Kundalini Meditation there is a seventh, final chakra: The Sahasrara chakra, the Crown Chakra.

Awakening The Third Eye – Be Careful What You Wish For

Have you ever heard the expression, ‘Be careful what you wish for’? For some people, the opening of the 3rd eye can show them things that they really didn’t want to see.  For others, it’s a journey of enlightenment. If you are sure that this is something you want to do, then please read on.

According to wiki, the third eye (also known as the inner eye) is a mystical and esoteric concept referring to a speculative invisible eye which provides perception beyond ordinary sight. In certain dharmic spiritual traditions such as Hinduism, the third eye refers to the ajna, or brow, chakra. The third eye is referred to the gate that leads within to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness.

In New Age spirituality, the third eye often symbolizes a state of enlightenment or the evocation of mental images having deeply personal spiritual or psychological significance. The third eye is often associated with religious visions, clairvoyance, the ability to observe chakras and auras, precognition, and out-of-body experiences. People who are claimed to have the capacity to utilize their third eyes are sometimes known as seers.

On the Above Top Secret website, a person by the name of “pellian” stated the following:

I found a very real technique that will increase your spiritual perception by a thousand fold. I won’t tell anybody what it is or where I learned it because Some may attract very evil entities and possibly destroy themselves over it.

The very first night I tried this I had a very different type of dream which I had not had before. The content doesn’t mean anything but I digress.

The day after I notice that sometimes my awareness would shift and my vision seems different for a moment. I thought that this is really cool. I do the exercises again soon after. same thing at night. I see colors and shapes that follow my vision. These were there if I closed my eye in complete darkness or opened them in the very dim light of my room. These seemed to be objects of some sort that gave off a dim glow and had a woven pattern.

As I practiced it sounds really crazy but I think that these exercises created some sort of energy that attract astral forms. One night, I woke up and saw this thick rope strung from my window sill to the door. At the moment I knew what it was. I made the mistake of touching this animal or thing and felt a jolt like electricity. I was definitely awake I immediately felt very sick and had chills all over my body.

I continued the exercises two weeks later.  I was really close to sleep and a blue ring of light that fluttered like a butterfly came into my room. I turned on the light and the ring persisted of about a second after and I again felt a sting I my side and the same chills. I assure that I am not dreaming and fully awake.

If this is not some crazy hallucination then whatever I have been doing is either lighting me up like a porch light to attract moths or these entities are coming through to this world via my consciousness. A hallucination cannot affect you physiologically to make a shock effect.

I also have noticed that when did the exercises something seems to materialize in my room.

The way this thing or object would materialize is that it would appear like it was a different refractive index like the air. I would also see entities that looked like this right after I wake up. I have even noticed small feathers falling down in my room.

The level of perception was incredible. But was not worth being bothered by these entities.

I view it as the difference between having a solid spiritual mind or having a fear based mind.  It’s kind of like the 3rd eye mirror meditation where you end up seeing various faces from the collection or some of your past lives.  Not everyone will be ready for an experience such as that.

The following is a tutorial video along with the PDF on how to open your 3rd eye.  If you think you’re ready for this, then please proceed…

There is a video after this ebook that will walk you through your 3rd eye awakening but I would recommend reading the book, first!

Awakening The Third Eye, a practical meditation by Samuel Sagan. (M.D.) the first “hand’s on”, so to speak, set of practice exercises designed to give a direct sense and feel of the 3rd eye like never before!!!

Discover How to Activate The Hidden Powers of your Third Eye – The Pineal Gland

Featured video from Infinite Waters. Subscribe to his YouTube channel here.

There is a little known part of our brain called the pineal gland more commonly known as our third eye. It’s shaped like a pine cone, hence the name.

This tiny pine cone shaped part of our brain is in charge of producing serotonin derivative melatonin that has to deal with our hormones that affects our sleeping patterns and our seasonal functions.

The pineal gland is found near the center of our brain and is placed in-between the two hemispheres.

There is a reason why many people don’t know much information about the pineal gland. The elites in this world understand its fullest potential and want to keep us in the dark.

The pineal gland is essentially the portal between the physical and spiritual world for humans. When activated, the sensation of euphoria and oneness fills the persons mind, giving them a sense of all knowing. One can achieve this activation through yoga, meditation and a variety of other methods.

Once you learn how to activate this part of our brain you will be able to ‘astral project’ or ‘remote view’ which is essentially you travelling to other dimensions out-with your body.

Through ancient methods and advanced practices, one could even control the thoughts and actions of other people in the physical world.

Much of this probably sounds both impossible and implausible to you, but many governments as well as various ‘organizations’ have been researching these effects for a really long time, keeping the information under lock from the public eye.

Much of how modern society operates is actually designed in such a way to limit our ability to activate our pineal gland. One major contributing factor is the consumption of sodium fluoride that many people digest on a daily basis through their water supply. The pineal gland absorbs most of the sodium fluoride that enters our bodies.

This essentially dumbs the pineal gland down by no longer being able to balance our hormonal processes in the body.

Studies in the United States show that the water supply contains 90% of fluoride and other various components. Not even the basic water filters you buy at the super market are able to filter out fluoride fully.

One way to combat this is reverse osmosis or water distillation, water distillation being the cheaper option. Check out this video to find our more about decalcification of the gland.

Many of you will be thinking this sounds like a conspiracy but no one can deny the huge disconnect between peoples understanding of reality and their own spirituality. People are caught up in the physical world’s way of thinking that we are just human bodies here for a limited time. When if we could just open our minds… with the help of our pineal glands we would understand that we are all infinite energy essentially having a temporary human experience. The world is waking up and more of us are beginning to realize and understand the powers we all have within.

Here is a neat video from Infinite Waters which talks about the subject in more detail:

Here’s Everything You Must Know About ‘The Third Eye’: Pineal Gland – The Quantum Healing

The famous philosopher Descartes described the pineal gland as the “principal seat of the soul.” You’ve probably heard of this gland being the ‘third eye,’ a mystical chakra point residing right in the middle of your eyebrows.

Pineal Gland Functions

How you think and feel every day depends on the pineal gland. As the producer of the hormone melatonin, the quality and duration of your sleep relies on how well it produces this hormone. This tiny organ regulates your daily and seasonal circadian rhythms, the sleep-wake patterns that determine your hormone levels, stress levels, and physical performance.

4 Ways to Activate the Pineal Gland

Activating your pineal gland may be helpful for regulating mood, sleep, and energy levels. Here are 4 ways to get started:

1. Get Out and Into the Sun

Sun exposure kick starts the pineal gland to produce serotonin and stimulates the mind. Any type of light exposure, either directly or indirectly, activates the pineal gland, prompting it to produce serotonin.

2. Sleep in Complete Darkness

A dark environment ensures your pineal gland produces enough melatonin to ensure good, restful sleep. Make sure you avoid backlit devices like phones, tablets, computer monitors, or TV right before bed. The lighting of these devices stimulates serotonin production, tricking your pineal gland into thinking it’s daytime, confusing your wake/sleep cycle.

3. Sun Gazing

Sun gazing is perhaps one of the most controversial exercises you can do to activate the pineal gland, simply because there’s no scientific evidence to prove its effectiveness or safety.

4. Meditation

The pineal gland responds to the bioelectric signals of light and dark, and meditation activates this bioelectric energy. With practice, you can learn to direct this energy to this highly-sensitive organ.

Modern Problems with the Pineal Gland

Calcification is the biggest problem for the pineal gland. Fluoride accumulates in the pineal gland more than any other organ and leads to the formation of phosphate crystals. As your pineal gland hardens due to the crystal production, less melatonin is produced and regulation of your wake-sleep cycle gets disturbed.

In addition to fluoride, halides like chlorine and bromine also accumulate and damage the pineal gland. Calcium supplements can also cause problems. Without enough vitamin D–64% of Americans are vitamin D deficient–calcium does not become bioavailable and calcifies human tissue, including the pineal gland.

How to Decalcify Your Pineal Gland

If you’ve been exposed to fluoride, your pineal gland has some degree of calcification preventing it from working well. Here are a few ways you can decalcify:

Tamarind Fruit

The fruit from the African tamarind tree is extremely effective at removing fluoride from the body.

Mix one teaspoon of borax (or boron) in a liter of water and take it in small quantities over the course of a day or two. Consult your doctor before using this method.

These volcanically-produced crystals have recently been discovered as a powerful way to detoxify your body. They break down hardened calcium that forms around heavy metals in tissue and removes these heavy metals from the body.

Regular cleansing enables the body to naturally remove toxins and heavy metals from the body, including fluoride.

6 Unconventional Ways to Kick Open the Third Eye

There are many conventional methods of opening the third eye: meditating on the pineal gland, yoga, psychotropic drugs, fasting.

These methods should be utilized as much as moderation and health can allow. But what might be some unconventional methods of opening the third eye?

That’s exactly what we explore in this article. So strap on your apocalyptic sunglasses and jump on the nearest dragon. It’s time to dive right into the six unconventional ways to kick open the third eye.

“In ancient times, in the “time of inspiration,” the poet flew from one world to another, “riding on dragons,” as the Chinese said. The poets dragged behind them long tails of dragon smoke. This dragon smoke means that a leap has taken place in the poem. In many ancient works of art we notice a long floating leap at the center of the work. That leap can be described as a leap from the conscious to the unconscious and back again, a leap from the known part of the mind to the unknown part and back to the known.” – Robert Bly

Searching for dragon’s smoke is the search for a kind of sacred knowledge that bridges the gap between finitude and infinity. Similar to Prometheus traveling to Olympus and back, harboring the secrets of fire, we too can learn the “knowledge of the gods” in between worlds by leaping onto the dragon’s back and taking the plunge into the poetry of the universe.

Whether through the magic of music, enticing the third eye to open using the magic between frequencies, or through the aesthetic of paint, charming the third eye into opening using the magic of colors, the search for dragon smoke compels us to look deeper, to read between the lines, to search for clues to the meaning of it all. It’s a dive into the unknown without wings, only to return with the secrets of flight.

So take the leap. Summon the dragon. Heed the call to adventure. You’re sure to come up with some fresh perspectives to share with your fellow humans, and even if not, at least you had an adventure, and at least you dared to gaze into the Great Mystery with your third eye open wide.

2.) Unbecome everything

“The real struggle of the heroic individual is not solely to liberate himself from conflict with society, but rather to use the conflict within himself as a source for self-regeneration.” ~ Jennifer Ratner-Rosenhagen

Maybe the quest for enlightenment isn’t about becoming something. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything so we can simply become our most authentic self. We are all of us exceptionally multilayered.

There are so many layers in fact that it can be quite smothering sometimes, which is probably a big reason why so many of us are walking around with our third eye blind.

Maybe one of the tricks to kicking open the third eye is to shed the superfluous from our souls in order to reveal the sacred vulnerability vibrating at the center of who we are.

Similar to a snake shedding its skin, the Kundalini snake rises up through the seven sacred chakras shedding its skin at each chakra along the way, becoming more and more open to harnessing the sacred energy of the cosmos. It keeps shedding its skin, self-regenerating over and over. We too have this power.

The art of the snake-skin-self is a sacred path of unburdening, a courageous act of shedding the cultural layer, the social layer, the existential layer, the death layer; all of which are like blind folds for the third eye. Unbecome everything so you can see how everything is connected to everything else.

3) See the world through apocalyptic sunglasses

“Everything you see has its roots in the unseen.” ~ Rumi

Seeing the world through apocalyptic sunglasses is seeing the many ways that our perceptions either hide or reveal the truth from us.

We’re all born into a world not of our choosing: the Caught-reality. This is the reality into which we emerge. Then there is the world that we are conditioned into perceiving: the Taught-reality.

This is the reality taught to us by our parents and our culture. Then there is the world outside of us in the form of nature and the greater cosmos: the Ought-reality.

This is the reality that is dictated to us by the laws of nature. And finally there is the world that binds it all together: the Sought-reality. This is the reality where we seek balance and equilibrium between all our different ways of perceiving reality. Apocalyptic sunglasses are neither optimistically rose-colored nor pessimistically black, they are immanently white.

They see the way of things. They reveal how we are caught, how we are taught, how we ought to see, and what it is that we seek. You want to kick open the third eye? Use the apocalyptic sunglasses as a metaphor for seeing the world in a new revealing light.

4) Practice Counter-weltanschauung dynamics

“We can be blind to the obvious, and we are also blind to our blindness.” ~ David Kahneman

Weltanschauung is the German word for worldview. So how can countering our worldview kick open the third eye? Counter-Weltanschauung Dynamics is a way of questioning and broadening our worldview by first taking stock of our current predicament, through ruthless self-examination, and then entertaining the idea of a polar opposite, so that we may arrive at a more open-minded understanding of our interpretation of the world as a whole.

The ultimate goal of Counter-Weltanschauung Dynamics is to achieve a state of broad-mindedness akin to nature itself; to be able to look upon the world with holistic eyes.

Armed with this particular flavor of empathy, the schism between nature and psyche and between self and other is mended, and the ability to once again be enchanted by the numinous gloriously returns. There is perhaps no greater opening of the third eye than the ability to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes and attempt to see things the way they do.

5) Practice Faux pas dynamics

“Remember that there is nothing stable in human affairs. Therefore avoid undue elation in prosperity or undue depression in adversity.” ~ Isocrates

Allow for unruly interregnum. Throw yourself into the maelstromic air. Harness a giggling mockery of your own earnestness toward ideology by using your spirituality as sacred laughter rather than profane reverence.

Carry a warm helping of humble-pie. Be prepared to throw it in the face of any and all people who taking themselves too seriously, including, especially, yourself. Just remember to be sincere. A double-jointed Spirituality will surely occur. But don’t let it get to your head. Laugh that halo right off; lest it inadvertently slip down to become the noose that kills your journey.

Keep practicing. Don’t let up. Poke holes in the “holy” and plant seeds of counterintuitive humor. Blaspheme with sacred whimsy and wily wit. Mock all isms with Brouhaha-ism. Laugh at all things, especially those things that people take too seriously.

Practice the egalitarian tactic of reverse-dominance on yourself and on others. Being a walking, talking, proactive ball of laughing transparency is a sure-fire way to keep the powers-that-be checked and balanced while keeping your third eye wide and open.

6) Practice Crazy Wisdom

“If you need to visualize the soul, think of it as a cross between a wolf howl, a photon, and a dribble of dark molasses. But what it really is, as near as I can tell, is a packet of information. It’s a program, a piece of hyper-spatial software designed explicitly to interface with the Mystery. Not a mystery, mind you, the Mystery. The one that can never be solved.” ~ Tom Robbins

You want to kick open the third eye? Be the link that bridges the gap between youthfulness and maturity; that joins beginner’s mind with wisdom; that blurs the line between the fool and the wise man.

Put away your moral compass. Use, instead, your amoral compass and astonish the world with it. Be a skeptic idealist, a utopian critic, a deconstructing synthesizer, a pragmatic visionary.

Pragmatism without vision never flies, risks nothing, and smothers new ideas before they can even breathe. Vision without pragmatism has no grounding, gets lost in flights of fancy, and has so many ideas jumbled up that it suffers from hyperoxia and never realizes them. Seek out the smoldering crucible of the Great Mystery.

It’s in all things, hidden in plain sight. Use its dancing oblivion to spark all sacred fires. It is the crucial seed that launches all creative flourishing. You don’t have to be a genius to be creative, but you have to be creative to be a genius. Open the paradigm and ascend.

5 Signs Your Third Eye Is Opening

Since ancient times, the third eye had been revered by all kinds of cultures. Today, we know it as the pineal gland, but it is still called the third eye in the spiritual realm. The third eye is viewed as a spiritual sign representing our capability to conquer all kinds of challenges in daily life by tapping into our inner wisdom.

But there is much more to the third eye than that. In most Eastern traditions, the third eye is undoubtedly real; a thing that anybody can perceive and obviously feel if they have a strong sense of self and mindfulness.  It is what is often referred to as the connection between our body and our spirit.

When we meditate with any consistency, the third eye opens and your inner guide becomes stronger and a more present guiding force in your life.

Generally when the third eye starts to manifest on a much deeper level, there’s a related consciousness of sensation between eyebrows. It could seem like somebody is lightly touching us at that moment, or you might feel a spreading of warmth.

Sometimes this sensation could appear from nowhere; whether we have spiritual feelings or not. It’s as if it’s a signal to pull us back in that spiritual state of mind.

Among the most obvious signals of third eye opening is an increase in foresight or intuition we start to experience – if we are paying attention.

Intuition is the capability to know something might happen before it does or knowing something is right or wrong because of a feeling or sense.  It often comes and goes without notification. However with time, this feeling could get stronger, and turn out to be a guiding process in our daily lives.

We might start to sense warning signs or what our next action should be without explanation. Don’t dispute your intuition. Use it! It might not always be right; however it most certainly will put us on the right path.

With the opening third eye, we could find ourselves a little more sensitive to light and seeing colors more brightly.

Vivid colors and our awareness of light may begin subtly; they are not always instantly obvious or overwhelming. However, the sensitivity to light often brings further awareness of what is happening around us. When focusing deeply on the third eye (like in meditation), the lights of the third eye might appear.

The third eye and it’s reference to light has been talked about for years in many traditions worldwide. It is well-known in many forms of art and religious works. If you study the works, you can often see the light reference in circular shapes and star-shaped lights peeking through the clouds.

Our eyes will change over time, and we might feel like we just can’t get enough sun on our skin. This is normal. Soak it up! Just make sure you are not harming the skin.

Most importantly, fostering a healthy third eye steadily changes our perspective and personality in life. It results in beneficial changes because we want, and maybe even crave them. We can usually see it in the way we treat others. We might become more tolerant and less selfish.

A headache pressure is stronger than the pressure talked about earlier that happens between the eyebrows. At times, that pressure can begin to ache a little. Consider it a little bit of energy overload. Go outdoors and do a thing you cherish, like meditate or walk.

Head pressure is an actual sign of the spiritual eye opening, particularly in the center of the forehead. It is an indication that one’s pineal gland is developing energetically.

When our Third Eye is opening, we’ll begin body-to-soul discussions in our mind with an understanding of our place in the Universe and that we are the creator of our reality!

We will encounter greater states of mindfulness, enabling us to visualize a better life and take focused action to help us live up to our potential. We’ll become very intuitive, possess a good memory, and we’ll have the ability to understand without any problem.

We can help foster a strong sense of intuition by activating our third eye. Start by doing these things:

Stay away from sugar and dairy as much as possible.

Meditate outside, naturally, sitting on the grass or natural ground.

Be mindful of our senses.

Drink more water.

Walk in nature for not less than half an hour every day.

Display and wear indigo and purple.

Let go of limiting beliefs.

Do aesthetic activities: Make visual art, drawing, coloring, working with memory, photography, hypnosis, and even some daydreaming.
