Your Taurus 2019 Horoscope Predicts Major Change, So Get Ready For A Wild Year

When a new year arrives, it’s hard not to wonder what it’s going to have in store for you. That’s especially true when you’ve had a rough year and are hoping that your luck finally turns around. If you’re looking to your Taurus 2019 horoscope for some answers about the year ahead, you’re probably going to like what you find.

2019 will lead to lots of major changes for you, according to Tarot.com. While that may sound overwhelming (and maybe even terrifying to the typical Taurus who doesn’t love change), it’s something you should embrace. It’s your chance to makeover your life in a way that fulfills you.

The overhaul of your life may start on the job front. Astrofame predicts that lots of lucky breaks should be headed your way in the year ahead. You’ll be fired up to climb the ladder and secure yourself a better position (and the accompanying pay raise). But don’t get too cutthroat in your quest for a promotion, because you won’t get there without lots of teamwork.

When your career dedication pays off in 2019 and your bank account starts to reflect it, you might be tempted to treat yourself to a few splurges (and who could blame you?). But you don’t want to get too carried away with any major purchases, because Cafe Astrology warns that Tauruses should be careful about wracking up credit card debt this year. It’ll come back to haunt you in the future if you do.

Your love life will be full of surprises over next the year, according to Astroyogi. For a Taurus who’s coupled up, weddings bells could ring in 2019. If you’re single, you could meet someone new, or even reconnect with a former flame. You might have to travel a bit to find that person, however Astrology Club notes that you could end up in a long distance relationship this year. Be warned though the start of the summer will bring some communication issues that cause a rough patch in your relationship, predicts Indastro.

If you’ve got Taurus kids, Karma Weather notes that this could be a great year to broaden their cultural horizons. You can do a little family bonding over trips to a new museum or gallery, or take in a musical or play together. In other family developments, a rocky relationship with a relative could also finally be smoothed over.

Overall a general feeling of peace reigns in your life in 2019. That could be due to all the spiritual growth you’ll undergo over the next 12 months, reports astrology King. You’ll gain a greater sense of self-awareness, which helps you recognize and overcome your flaws (like that infamous stubborn Taurus streak). And while it seems you’ll be in a good space with your mental health in 2019, you should be careful not to neglect your physical health. SunSigns.org warns that you might develop some unhealthy habits this year, so be sure to pencil in some time to take care of yourself.

Weekly Horoscope ~ Dec 31 to Jan 10

Capricorn Decan 2 ~ Jan 1 to Jan 10 2018. The weekly horoscope runs as an Egyptian week, ie 10 days. It will start as the Sun moves into a new decan and looks at what fixed stars it hits during the decanate week. The star interpretations are written for those born with their Sun on that degree, but the general mood of the day will carry that flavour too.

Your Birthday Fixed Stars

Jan 1/3

Capricorn 12º 23’ ~ Nunki in the vane of the archers hand in Sagittarius 2.1*
Capricorn 13º 38’ ~ Ascella in the left armpit of the archer Sagittarius 2.7

“is an indicator of one who may be expected to be an authoritative orator on Sagittarius and Capricorn topics on business, state or foreign affairs, religion. Interest in long distance travel and in ships and airplanes.” [1] Both Nunki and Ascella are of the nature of Jupiter and Mercury. in particular though gives “good fortune and happiness.” While Nunki brings “truthfulness, optimism and a religious mind.” Those born on this day could make great diplomats as they enjoy meeting people of many cultures. Teachers that go on lecture tours around the world are also found here.

Jan 4/5

Capricorn 14º 59’ ~ in the archers face in Sagittarius 3.0
Capricorn 14º 37’ ~ Vega in Lyra the harp 0.3

Manubrium is part of the cluster in the Archer’s Face. This one is not so civilised or lucky, but it is brave and “Of the nature of the Sun and Mars. It causes blindness, explosions, fire, flaring heat, heroism, courage, and defiance.” Dr Eric Morse stresses the fiery side also: “To find a major planet in a chart very precisely on Manubrium rather than its neighbours (which are very close in longitude) is likely to show up the more aggressive connotations of the constellation and sign here, we should often find less of the philosopher than the high-performance athlete or the high court judge. The military strategist is also likely to have this star strong.” [2]

“It gives beneficence, ideality, hopefulness, refinement and changeability, and makes its natives grave, sober, outwardly pretentious and usually lascivious.” The Ebertins bring out the artistic side saying “In a good cosmic configuration, Vega is supposed to give artistic talents especially for music and acting, but also a liking for good living. With eccentric artists, this may lead to a debauched life. Tied up with Jupiter or Venus, Vega is said to pave the way to riches and fame. In connection with the Moon…a tendency for occult and mysticism may be given.”[3]

When I studied Vega and Lyra in depth I found they were definitely associated with wealth and a tad of pretentiousness. It fits very well with the aspirational mountain-climbing goat. But tropical Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, so we get a doubling of the planet’s more severe and authoritarian side. It makes a great policeman. “If Rising: Can be trained in duties of court. Avengers of crimes and in charge of public courts and inquires. If Saturn is in any aspect with Vega when rising, the native will pursue this vocation with a fanaticism to the point of utilizing tortures and executions to stamp out what he considers evil.” [4]

Jan 6

Capricorn 16º 15’ ~ Albaldah in the back of the archers head of Sagittarius 3.0
Capricorn 16’ 38’ ~ Rukbat in the horses leg of the archer, Sagittarius 4.1

Stars of Sagittarius in general “soften tigers, rid the lion of his fierceness, speak to the elephant…..it has lordship over beasts. And because it carries a shaft poised on drawn bow, it imparts strength to limb and keenness to the intellect, swiftness of movement, and an indefatigable spirit.”[5] Again this just emphasizes the ability of Capricorn decan 2’s to police and civilize. They make excellent prison warders, firm but fair, with the ability to tame errant criminals who run riot. This is also the super nanny too.

Jan 7

Capricorn 17º 20’ ~ Lambda Aquila in Aquilla the eagle 3.5
Capricorn 17’ 36’ ~ Delta Pavo in the peacock 3.6

Delta Pavo is found in the peacock. The peacock is supposed to be vain, and loves to display itself. Robson says it also gives fame and a long life. Here, similar to Capricorn Decan 3, (where Peacock has a bigger influence) it is about the display of masculine power. Because this decan is ruled by Mars this version of display will be more macho than dandy, demonstrating the subject’s military or physical strength. eg: Roman gladiators or centurions. With the archer in this zone too, the peacock puffing-up of one’s body can be through armor in the sense of musculature too. The natives would be extremely resilient, as if they were coated in Teflon. Nothing sticks to them for very long. ‘Armour’ can also be ownership of chunky cars and chrome-covered motorbikes.

Jan 8

Capricorn 18º 53’ ~ Sheliak in Lyra the harp 3.5

Sheliak is another star in the Lyre, which in early depictions showed a harp nested in the breast of a vulture. Sheliak is found in the vulture’s claws. In nature the scavenger can be cleansing and purifying, but it also deals with the dirty jobs that no one wants to do. It has that vigilante feel to it. These are people who take the law into their own hands, the way that gangsters do. They are doing it for the ‘family’ and protecting their own blood. In their mind it is honorable, never mind that someone else’s guts gets bust in the process. Since this decan is ruled by Mars, then this will bring out the vulture’s bloodlust in the later degrees of this decan. It will also enjoy a bit of torture, either giving or receiving. Punishment and teaching someone a lesson here is strong…

Jan 9/10

Capricorn 19º 41’ ~ Nu Octans in Hadley’s Octans the navigation aid 3.7
Capricorn 19º 51’ ~ Dheneb in Aquilla the eagle 3.0

Nu Octans is little known star in Hadley’s Octan. I include it as it’s quite bright and there are some major stargazers with planets here. It is the only notable star down at the South Pole. An Octans is an earlier version of a sextans which is an instrument to measure the altitude of a star. So this is a navigation aid. Octans derives from the number eight and is the musical octave. The figure 8 also symbolizes eternity. There is something very durable about Capricorn decan 2. It doesn’t date and might represent ancient wisdom. This could be someone who is a battle-scarred old soul, who has been through some tortuous times, but whose experiences can serve as a guide (or a warning) to the less worldly among us.

Lambda Aquilla and in the Eagle Aquilla. In general this constellation is “a law unto himself, and rushes violently wherever his fancy takes him;….Yet, should perchance his aggressiveness be enlisted in a righteous cause, depravity will turn into virtue, and he will succeed in bringing wars to a conclusion and enriching his country with glorious triumphs….the Eagle does not wield, but supplies weapons.” Even though this decan is ruled by mars it suggests these folk are very rarely at the front line. These are generals and officers, and not your average foot soldiers. Dheneb is “Of the nature of Mars and Jupiter. It gives ability to command, liberality, success in war and beneficence.” and gives success in martial arts.

Monthly Horoscopes

Your HelloGiggles horoscope, October 21st to October 27th:

Take a deep breath, fam, because we’re in for a big week. First, we’re wrapping up Libra season and entering Scorpio world on October 23rd. Scorpio is all about digging deep and asking the big questions about life; those born under this sign live for passion and intensity. So now is the perfect time to say what we need to say in order to reveal the truth of a situation and/our relationships. Factor in the powerful full moon in Taurus on October 24th, which is all about letting go and welcoming major changes, and we are about to get shook.

Lest we forget, we’re also in the middle of Venus in Retrograde in Scorpio, and how could we? Our relationships have been intense AF lately because of it. Unexpected conflicts, exes, confusion, jealousy, you name it, and we’ve been dealing with it. Now, in Scorpio land, we’re going to feel our emotions on levels we didn’t even know existed as we sort and sift through everything that’s been happening. The Full Hunter’s Moon will bring changes and excitement as well as feelings of uncertainty and doubt. In short, we’re in for one humdinger of a week when it comes to our relationships.

Here’s what else the stars have in store for you in your weekly horoscope.

Just when you didn’t think you could go any deeper, Scorpio, think again. You’re ruminating on all sorts of stuff right now, from the professional to the personal. As you reflect on what—or who—needs to stay or go, try to keep your decisions as balanced as possible. It’s easy to set everything on fire now, but there’s some things you should keep.

You’re looking at life differently, Sag. What seemed exciting before might not shine as bright now. While it’s difficult to give up something that you wanted, sometimes it’s in the letting go that we realize what we should hold onto.

This girl is on fire, Capricorn. Your passionate side has been reignited, and let’s be real: it feels weird. However, instead of overanalyzing what’s going on with your heart (and your loins), try to just…feel it. Feeling feelings is scary sometimes, but not acknowledging them is even scarier.

While your reflex is to run from intimacy, Aquarius, you’re being asked to stay put. Vulnerability is not only a form of strength, but it’s also the key to human connection. And as the humanitarian of the zodiac, connection is your jam. Open your heart.

You’re deep in your emotions, Pisces. What else is new? However, this week you’re being asked how to feel your feelings without letting them control you. Managing your emotions isn’t the same as suppressing them; it’s just knowing that waking up on the wrong side of the bed doesn’t have to reroute your entire day.

Don’t force the changes, Aries, let the changes happen to you. As much as you want to move ahead with a situation, it bodes well for you to put on the brakes. See how going with the flow can make things easier in your world. And when your infamous temper flares up? Take a breath. This is the new you.

Expect some big changes this week, Taurus. Yes, I know, you hate change. So this week will feel tough. However, change is necessary for growth, and once you get used to the idea of this transformation, you’ll soon realize how you should’ve made this change, like, yesterday.

It’s time to move out of your head and into your feels, Gemini. This is a big ask for you. You’d rather think your way out of your feelings, but you’re being asked to feel your way through them. It’s going to feel super awkward, and that’s a good thing.

It’s time to get out of your comfort zone, Cancer. While your default is to retreat when life gets messy, the stars are urging you to move forward in spite of the yuckiness. Own the part you’ve played, and don’t be afraid to get a little dirt on you. That’s how we learn to lean into our integrity.

While you’d like to move forward already, Leo, the stars want you to feel your feelings a bit more. You’re in the midst of a life shake-up, and while it feels disorientating right now, it’ll eventually point you in the right direction as a fully evolved and enlightened.

Don’t criticize yourself for feeling the way you feel, Virgo. Everyone has the right to feel their feelings, including you. Your go-to is to brush your emotions aside, rationalizing your actions and decisions. But now you need to know that it’s okay to feel so deeply and, more importantly, that it’s totally okay to feel this way again.

You are feeling out of balance lately, Libra, which is freaking you out. However, as the quote goes, “If you do not create change, change will create you.” Your life is being shaken up right now—because it needs to be. The irony of it is once you make the decision to be fine with it, things will smooth out.

Well, don’t say you haven’t been warned, bbs. While this week will be tough AF, it’ll also open us up to new ways of being and feeling, which can only bode well for our future relationships—with others and with ourselves.

October pop culture horoscope: ‘A Star is Born,’ ‘First Man’ and more

No idea what to wear all Halloween season? Just let the stars guide you and masquerade through October as a glamorous Libra. That’s right: We’ve entered scales season, stargazers, so get ready to pump up the drama with your wardrobe, among your unsuspecting friends, and of course in your pop culture consumption. Here are the movies, TV shows, books, and music releases that will thrill you throughout the next month.

ARIES (March 21 to April 19)

It’s almost redundant to say that on March 28, 1986, a star was born — obviously that person was born a star, because they were born an Aries — but we’re saying it anyway, because that’s when Lady Gaga entered the world. We might be in the direct opposite astrological season right now, but this October will burn with the brilliant, courageous fire of the ram, because Gaga will be reborn once again — this time as a big-screen leading lady in Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born (Oct. 5).

TAURUS (April 20 to May 20)

Do you know how long a single baseball game can stretch — or a single half-inning, or one lone at-bat? And for what? One measly win out of 162 games in a year? Three tiny outs out of 54 in a game? One lonely base out of a full four needed to make just one run in one inning in one game in a long season? Being a baseball fan requires no less than Taurean levels of patience and commitment, but it pays off at this time every year, when the World Series (Oct. 23) unfolds as if for you alone, beautiful bull. Because you’re steady, Taurus. You’re reliable as ballpark hot dogs and old-fashioned as “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” — and you’re so romantic! And what game on earth is more romantic than baseball?

GEMINI (May 20 to June 20)

It’s double, double toil and trouble for all you star-twins this month (though isn’t it always?) with a pair of witchy entertainments. The TV remakes of Charmed (The CW, Oct. 14) and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix, Oct. 26) will spell both trickand treat for Geminis this Halloween — and if you really want double the frights, you can revisit the originals along with the new incarnations.

CANCER (June 21 to July 22)

You’ll be looking to your ruling planet this month, little crab — as a matter of fact, visiting it — when you catch Damien Chazelle’s First Man (Oct. 12), which chronicle’s Neil Armstrong’s voyage to the moon. In addition to the trip to your home sweet home, you’ll connect with the film’s sensitivity to the astronauts’ intense emotional journey. And of course while Armstrong himself was a Leo and Ryan Gosling, who plays him, is a passionate Scorpio, the film finds its dramatic climax in its protagonist’s 1969 “giant leap for mankind” — which took place, naturally, in the waning days of Cancer season.

LEO (July 23 to Aug. 22)

You know what it’s like to feel like royalty among commoners, regal lion, so you’ll identify deeply with the plight of the characters at the center of The Romanoffs (Amazon, Oct. 12), Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner’s new anthology series about a variety of people around the world who believe that they are descended from the doomed Russian royal family. Say dasvidaniya to boring TV.

VIRGO (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22)

October is always bittersweet, lovely as it is. But as much as you’re sad to leave your birthday season behind, and to anticipate the long winter that follows the all-too-fleeting fall, you’re not about to make a spectacle of yourself by failing to be seasonally appropriate in any way. Lean into the feeling, Virgo, with Honey (Oct. 16), from that most melancholy of pop songstresses, glittering Gemini Robyn. It’s been eight years since her last album, so you can trust that it’s really ready and perfect (you do hate when something isn’t properlyfinished) — and you can dedicate“Missing U” to sweet September.

LIBRA (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22)

Happy birthday, beautiful scales! You’ll get all the drama and glamour you could wish for this year with Elite (Netflix, Oct. 5), a new Spanish teen soap about three working-class students who are chosen to attend a prestigious high school, where they become unwitting players in the outrageous dramas of their wealthy classmates. Yes, that’s right! It’s like murder-y international Gossip Girl! What more could you possibly want?

SCORPIO (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21)

We know you’ll spend the next month just sighing through flashy Libra time, Scorpio, impatient for the dark intensity of your own birthday season to swallow us up. Also: Did you know that Suspiria (Oct. 26) is a Latin word for ‘sighs’? Luca Guadagnino’s moody remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 horror classic, about a ballerina (Dakota Johnson) who joins an elite dance company run by a mysterious director (Tilda Swinton, legendary Scorpio), will speak directly to your autumnal angst. And also, you know, scare the hell out of you.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 to Dec. 21)

Rosellen Brown took her Taurean time (18 years!) writing her most recent book, but the wait for The Lake on Fire (Oct. 16) will be worth it, Sagittarius. The epic novel — a tale of 19th-century immigrants, courageous dreamers trying to change their lives — will fill the corners of your expansive mind, and change the way you think about the world we live in even now.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19)

All the silly spooky crap people get into for Halloween is, like, half-cute to you, for a minute. We get it. You can only sit through stupid costumed episodes of network sitcoms and sing along to The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack and pretend to laugh at jokes about virgins lighting the black flame candle so many times before you break. But The Haunting of Hill House (Netflix, Oct. 12) is different, Capricorn, grounded in the realistic drama of five siblings who grew up together in a creepy manor house, and still bear the weight of it. Just because it’s Halloween doesn’t mean you have to celebrate with something stupid.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 to Feb. 18)

Brilliant water bearer! You’ll celebrate a love of literature this month with — what else? — more literature. Scorpio Susan Orlean is back with The Library Book (Oct. 16), which chronicles the history of libraries (which features a lot of characters who are singular to a truly Aquarian degree), investigates the 1986 Los Angeles Library Fire, and argues for the importance of the institution. It will fire up your journalistic mind all month.

PISCES (Feb. 19 to March 20)

The allure of Halloween-time for the final sign in the zodiac is how it allows us all to escape, however briefly, to someplace fantastical. You’ll embrace that October spirit, and indulge your tastes for nostalgia and romanticism, with the Criterion Collection’s fairytale-perfect new edition of The Princess Bride (Oct. 30), packaged in a storybook box and including a near-inconceivable number of special features. To all the Pisces dreaming of running away to a land of magic, miracles, true love, sports (!), and Rouss, we say: As you wish, sweet astro-fish.
